July 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 2013
Eight evenings 6:30 – 8:30 PM
River Region Performing Arts and Cultural Center
15146 River Road, Good Hope, LA
The workshop will focus on ensemble building, trust, observation, self-confidence, concentration, imagination and creativity. We will introduce the fundamental basics of theater and provide a well-rounded academic, educational experience of drama for all. Everyone regardless of ability and experience will be given an opportunity to be involved. Participants will experience theater as a creative and critical thinking process that will help foster a healthy self-concept, develop intra-personal skills, clarify perceptions of the world, and nurture an awareness of themselves as physical, social and creative beings. The final evening will be a public performance demonstrating the skills learned in the workshop.
The workshop is open to young people ages 8 and up and will be FREE of charge. Please contact Henry Sorbet (504-331-0990) for additional information. Preregistration is not required. This program is sponsored by United Way of St. Charles.
