Admission: $20 Register in advance. We are requiring folks pre-register and pay IN ADVANCE ONLY. Class limited to 30 people so book in advance. If you register and can’t make it, please email jriesman@riverarts.org

Time: 7:30-9:30pm

Drink & Draw is a modern twist on the classic artistic practice of life drawing. Artists of all experience levels and backgrounds are welcome, especially those that have always wanted to try their hand.

In this non-instructional event, we aim to create a relaxing, social and inclusive environment for the community to come together for a fun night of drawing.  After some mingling with fellow guests, participants will have an opportunity to capture the human body in poses of different lengths, with breaks for refreshments in between.

There’s wine, crackers, cheese and cookies to enjoy, and our host curates a playlist to keep your energy flowing.  The evening lasts about 2 hours, and participants leave with a collection of their new works… and maybe some new friends too.

RiverArts is proud to be able to provide this unique opportunity right here in our Rivertowns, an opportunity which is often only accessible to art students or by traveling into New York City, with a significant investment of time and tuition.  Drink & Draw offers a perfect entry-level for the amateur artist, and we have seen beginners improve significantly as their skills develop in subsequent sessions and they draw on their experience and learn from others.

Model provided. Please bring your own art supplies and arrive on time.
Must be over 18 to attend. Wine for those 21+

343 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, NY
7:30PM, doors open 7:00PM

Tickets: $25

RiverArts presents River Readings ~a curated evening of play readings.

Three contemporary playwrights share selected scenes from plays in progress. Experience new scripts on their journey of development read by talented actors, with a discussion to follow. Themes recommended for ages 16+.

Amina Henry Interstate
Interstate tells a story about family and change. In the play, Red, a single flight attendant, takes her children on a cross country road trip. This trip sets in motion events that will either destroy this family or make them stronger.

Peggy Stafford Ambulette: a non emergency vehicle
Ambulette is a memory play that unfolds inside a moving non-emergency vehicle, a beach on the south side of Long Island, and a cemetery where people used to have picnics. It’s a journey of friendship, grief and remembrance.

Melisa Tien Disrupted
In the male-dominated tech arena, two women join forces to create a first-of-its-kind app—one that tracks the menstrual cycle—and form a partnership that is tested to its limits.

Produced by Lauren Orkus

Evan Chapman: Channels, A New Music Series

Saturday, February 10, 2024
8 PM; Doors open at 7 PM
HudCo Penthouse
145 Palisade St., Dobbs Ferry, NY

Ages 12+

$30

The Channels series presents new music in unique spaces to bring artists and audiences together in the spirit of connectivity and discovery. This event is recommended for ages 12 and up.

About the Artist

Based in Philadelphia, Evan Chapman is a percussionist, composer, and filmmaker who has built a prolific and unique career by seamlessly blending multimedia and contemporary music. Chapman is a founding member of contemporary-classical percussion trio/rock band Square Peg Round Hole, whose original compositions have been dubbed a “creative adventure” by Bob Boilen (NPR) and have received further acclaim from Modern Drummer Magazine, Paste Magazine, and Mental Floss, among others.

Chapman is also a founder and owner of film production company Four/Ten Media alongside longtime collaborator Kevin Eikenberg. The duo’s background as classically-trained percussionists has allowed them to create fresh and musically authentic representations of pieces in the contemporary classical and pop worlds. Four/Ten’s client list includes internationally-acclaimed artists and institutions such as the New York Philharmonic, Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Caroline Shaw, Carnegie Hall, the Bang on a Can All-Stars, Sō Percussion, David Lang, Son Lux, Alarm Will Sound, and many more. Their work has been featured by major press outlets including the New York Times, Alternative Press, NPR, Paste Magazine, Q2 Music, and I Care If You Listen.

Evan will be presenting brand new original material that further explores the intersection of percussion and technology, incorporating elements from contemporary classical, electronic, and post-rock styles.

Evan is sponsored by Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, and Evans Drumheads.
